A Wish For Animals is desperately in need of grants, sponsors and donations for our daily operations and for securing a no-kill shelter of our own. We have recently identified a property which could provide temporary housing for our rescued pets until we find them permanent homes.

Cha Cha
Cha Cha was rescued from San Pedro Shelter as a baby and had distemper.  She and her siblings faught really hard and a few lost their lives, but most survived with a lot of care, hospitalization and love!  Cha Cha is now in a loving home with a big smile on her face!

Simon
Simon was rescued from the South L.A. shelter. He was going to be euthanized because he was torn apart by another dog.   The shelter loved him so much that they put him back together and we rescued him. Now he is in a wonderful home and still loves every dog he meets- even after his trauma.

Dori
Dori is Cha Cha's mommy and is pictured with her new mommy Ellen.  She was dumped by her original owners in San Pedro and lived outside in her neighborhood for a year waiting for them to return home for her.   She was later found pregnant by the Harbor Shelter and then we rescued her and her pups.   She is very happy in her new home!

Mack
Mack was on Death Row at the Downey shelter and was very emaciated.  He is now living the lifeof a “director” and travels all over the world with his new dad and two cat siblings.

Lily and Hans
Lily and Hans in their wonderful new home. Hans was found wandering the streets of L.A. and Lily was living in Compton on the streets with her two puppies. Lily and her pups became separated when animal control tried to catch them and they came into the South L.A. shelter two days apart.  We were able to reunite Lily and her pups. Lily's pups are in two wonderful homes. Lily and Hans met at their foster home and became fast friends and ended up being adopted together to the same home. They LOVE each other!

We are in great need of volunteers to provide foster homes for these pets until we can secure our own no-kill facility. Our Foster program enables the pet to be involved in a family environment while they are waiting to be placed in a permanent home. This also allows the pet to avoid the lonliness of be kept in a boarding facility and allows A Wish For Animals to save on high boarding fees.
